About Me

I am a Child of God, wife, parent, grandparent, teacher, and messenger. I’ve been married to Doug for over 23 years. Hence, I got to share the responsibility of raising three amazing children. Doug and I are the proud Pappy and Nini to seven grandchildren. Shortly after we married, we decided not to have any children together. He already had three from a previous marriage.  God had other plans for us, and now we have the privilege of raising three of our grandchildren full time. Our lives are not perfect – they are messy, nontraditional, and complicated, but we are also blessed beyond measure and grateful for all we have been given. We strive to live right where God wants us to be.

Jesus called me out of teaching elementary school children to share my imperfect life with the world. It took a little prodding, but I finally started writing to share with others about trusting God. 

In Matthew 28:18-20 we find what is now called The Great Commission. “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”

I believe he has the same message for me right now: Go, Baptize, Teach (I’m not sure about the baptizing part yet, but who knows!)
